Puddle of Mudd’s Wes Scantlin Reportedly Facing Domestic Violence and Drug Charges After Alleged Dispute with Girlfriend

The rock singer, who has a long history of legal issues, was arrested in Torrance, Calif., on March 11

Wes Scantlin is facing felony charges following an alleged domestic dispute with his girlfriend.

The Puddle of Mudd frontman (whose full name is Wesley Reid Scantlin) was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday, March 11, after police in Torrance, Calif., were alerted to an alleged fight at his apartment, according to TMZ. The outlet was first to report the news.

Citing law enforcement sources, TMZ reported that after speaking with both Scantlin, 52, and his girlfriend, whose identity was not revealed, police determined that the couple had gotten into a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical confrontation.

The musician’s girlfriend had visible marks on her arms, according to the outlet.

The Puddle of Mudd singer was subsequently arrested and upon searching him, police allegedly discovered a small amount of drugs on him, per TMZ.

Scantlin was arrested just after 4:00 a.m. local time and booked into jail at about 5:12 a.m., according to jail records viewed by PEOPLE. He was later released on Saturday, March 15, after posting bond.

The singer now faces felony charges which, TMZ reports, are for domestic violence and possession of a controlled substance.

He has two upcoming court appearances scheduled for March 28 and April 15, per records viewed by PEOPLE.

A rep for Scantlin did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment, nor did the Torrance Police Department.

The musician’s latest arrest comes after he made headlines earlier this month for giving a worrying performance at a charity concert, and later claiming he “was roofied” before the show by one of his ex-bandmates, according to Vice and Stereogum.

It also comes less than a year after the singer, who has a long history of legal issues, was arrested in California following a SWAT standoff.

The rocker made headlines last July when he was pulled over in Burbank, Calif., for an alleged traffic violation while he had an outstanding warrant for possession of a weapon at an airport.

As police interrogated Scantlin, who was alone in the vehicle, the singer refused to exit and, following multiple attempts of negotiation by the police and a crisis negotiator, he was pepper-sprayed.

About two hours later, a SWAT team arrived and encouraged the singer to exit the vehicle, and he obliged. He was then treated on scene by paramedics, transported to a local hospital and booked at the Burbank Jail for his outstanding warrant and for resisting arrest.

Scantlin was also arrested twice in 2015 on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Tragic final post by P2istheName saw YouTuber leaving LA for good

The star tragically spoke of setting an example to his future kids

YouTuber P2istheName tragically spoke of leaving LA for good in one of his final videos – just weeks before his body was found in the city.

In the video, posted on February 21, the 26-year-old referred to his “last month in LA” – as he planned to move from his hometown to Atlanta.

But just weeks later, on March 14, the star was discovered dead in a mailroom, according the Los Angeles County Coroner.

A cause of death has not yet been revealed, as investigations continue into the shock event.

Speaking to his 3.8 million subscribers, P2istheName, whose real name was Philip Enewally, said he had outgrown the city.

He said: “I’m out of Los Angeles. I think it’s finally time. I’ve been here my whole life. I grew up here, raised, went to school, all that bro.

“And even with YouTube, I came up on YouTube in my dad’s house and have always been in that California base so I know everything, every corner, every up and down, everywhere to go.

“But one thing I’ve been feeling as of recently is that I feel like I’m in a place where I need to meet new people and I’m kind of outgrowing some people that I grew up with.

“Sometimes they say you’ve got to leave your hometown, you’ve got to leave your home city.

“I never got to experience that. I never went to college, where I went to Houston or DC. I’ve always been here.

“I want there to be an era of my life where I leave my comfort zone and leave Los Angeles and finally take a big leap and faith and I’m not comfortable.”

The star, who was known for his gaming videos, comedy skits and vlogs, then tragically spoke of setting an example to his future kids.

He added: “When I’m like 35, 36, I’m 26 years old right now, but when I’m older and I have kids one day, I want my kids to be able to talk to me and be like ‘yo daddy, I want to live here’ and I’ll be able to say, ‘don’t say that, that place is trash’.

“I want to be able to say ‘I lived here, I lived here, I lived here’, not just one place for the rest of my life.

“I feel like when you’re able to experience more things, you’re able to have more wisdom.”

Philip had recently launched his streetwear brand DontMindUs – and hoped to meet like-minded entrepreneurs in his new home of Atlanta.

Elsewhere in the video, he can be seen surrounded by parcels, waiting to be taken to the post office.

He added: “LA is very saturated. There’s a lot people that live in LA… You’re gonna find a lot of people with daddy’s money.

“I want to meet like-minded people, who have the same mindset as me as an entrepreneur.”

The Youtuber’s mom confirmed her son’s passing to TMZ – and requested privacy on behalf of the family.

She also encouraged fans to visit his channel, which has around four million subscribers, to honour his memory.

Tributes also flooded in for the star from fans and fellow YouTubers.

Taking to Instagram, fellow YouTuber Coletheman wrote: “My good friend @P2istheName has passed away… wow.

“I’m honestly at a loss for words. He was always so kind to me and gave me so much content creation advice.

“May he rest in peace. This breaks my heart.”

Other fans shared their support, with one writing: “This man was my childhood, I still can’t believe it’s is real. May he rest in peace.”

Another wrote: “Never been touched by a celebrity’s death like this one.”

Philip rose to fame with videos of himself playing NBA 2K and Fortnite, before expanding to general explainers of popular video games, dubbed “Let’s Plays”.

Aside from gaming, he gave fans a glimpse into his personal life with vlogs showing “a day in the life of a young black millionaire” in L.A.

In his most recent Instagram post on February 19, he was seen loading DontMindUs parcels into a van – while posing in a red and black jersey from the brand.

In another slide in the same post, he appeared to be in a mailroom or shipping facility, surrounded by inventory.

He had been vocal about his passion for the brand, writing a few days previously: “The journey keeps getting better. @dontmindus all year. Thank U God.”

Philip’s videos once reached millions of viewers – with some boasting more than 13 million.

However, viewership had dwindled over recent years to around 20,000 to 60,000 views – with Philip opening up about feeling “lost” on the platform.

‘We are heartbroken’: Piper Arms pub releases statement after 12 people injured in mass shooting at Scarborough pub

The Scarborough pub where 12 people were injured in a mass shooting a little over a week ago says it is “heartbroken” and co-operating with the police.

A statement signed by management of Piper Arms — Scarborough Town Centre — the first since the March 7 gun attack — and posted to Instagram says that “we are cooperating fully with authorities as they investigate, and we are relieved that no lives were lost.”

Police are still searching for the three masked gunmen who opened fire at the pub on its grand opening just after 10:30 p.m. on March 7. Seven patrons suffered injuries from the gunfire and another five were hurt by flying glass and debris. One of the shooters was using an assault rifle, according to police.

Officers described the scene as “horrible” after reviewing security camera footage. “We’ve seen a lot of shootings over the years, a lot of video … these guys just looked at the crowd and opened fire,” Toronto police Supt. Paul MacIntyre said at the scene the day after the shooting.

Police have not released any details about the case since last weekend and have said officers are “working around the clock” to hold those responsible accountable.

“We are heartbroken over what happened at our Scarborough Town Centre location on what was supposed to be a special opening night for our team and the community. Our thoughts are with everyone affected, and we’re incredibly grateful to first responders and law enforcement for their quick response,” the Piper Arms statement reads.

Claims that the mass shooting was linked to ongoing violence in the GTA tow truck industry have circulated online, including a video posted the day before the attack that highlights the Piper Arms opening night advertising set to an audio track that references retribution and alleging the restaurant is affiliated with an “illegal tow union.” It’s unclear who created the video, which has since been deleted.

In mid-January, Toronto police announced the launch of dedicated team to address “the rise in criminality and violence linked to the tow truck industry.” They said that 70 per cent of the city’s shootings incidents up to that point in the year were related to the tow truck industry, along with 63 shooting incidents or firearm discharges last year, blaming “a small group of bad actors within the industry.”

A Toronto police spokesperson said on Saturday evening that they had no further information to offer about the case. Police have not released a description of the masked gunmen wanted in the attack.

A police spokesperson told Star earlier this week that while the public’s desire for more information is understandable, “releasing certain details at this time could compromise our ability to gather evidence and locate those responsible.”

‘It Looked Very, Very Authentic’: Nicolas Cage’s Spider-Noir Co-Star Teases Black and White Release

Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming live-action Spider-Noir series is shaping up to be one of the most visually distinct Marvel adaptations to date.

Set in a gritty, crime-ridden version of 1930s New York, the show will introduce a unique take on the Spider-Man mythos, starring Con Air’s Nicolas Cage as the hardened, noir-inspired hero. While Cage previously voiced the character in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), this will mark his first live-action portrayal of the fan-favorite alternate-universe Spider-Man.

While many details about Spider-Noir remain under wraps, the series is expected to fully embrace the classic film noir aesthetic. According to Spider-Noir co-star Lukas Haas in an interview with ComingSoon, Spider-Noir was shot in a way that captures the shadowy, dramatic visuals of classic noir cinema.

“It was just an incredible project,” Haas shared in the interview. “We filmed it in — I think it may come out in both black and white and color, but when we filmed it, the monitors were all black and white, so you got this feeling and it looked very, very authentic.” This statement suggests that Spider-Noir could receive two different versions — one presented in traditional color and another released in stark black and white, evoking the cinematic style of the 1930s.

Haas went on to praise the production’s commitment to capturing the noir look, explaining that the cinematography, lighting, and filters all contributed to its striking visual style. “They did a beautiful job with the filters and all that stuff, making it look like genuine old 1930s black and white film,” he added. “Just getting to do that noir thing — it was very genuine film noir, the way they filmed it, like the long shadows.” His comments indicate that Spider-Noir will aim for a level of authenticity rarely seen in modern superhero projects, fully immersing audiences in its stylized world.

A Bold New Take on the Marvel Universe

Unlike traditional Peter Parker stories, Spider-Noir will explore a more hardened and morally complex version of Spider-Man. In this universe, the character operates in a city plagued by crime syndicates, corruption, and a bleak sense of justice, embodying the noir storytelling tradition of classic detective films. Cage’s portrayal of this version of Spider-Man in Into the Spider-Verse was praised for its deadpan humor and old-school detective persona, making him a perfect fit for a live-action interpretation.

The series also boasts an impressive supporting cast for Spider-Noir, Brendan Gleeson, Lamorne Morris, and Li Jun Li. With its ambitious visual style, period-accurate storytelling, and unique approach to the superhero genre, Spider-Noir is shaping up to be a groundbreaking addition to the Marvel universe.

    When Will Spider-Noir Be Released?

An official premiere date has yet to be announced, but Spider-Noir will debut first on MGM+ before eventually landing on Amazon Prime Video. Given the level of craftsmanship being put into the project, the possibility of a black-and-white release could make Spider-Noir one of the most stylistically daring superhero adaptations to date.

  • BBC Strictly Come Dancing’s Ben Cohen’s ex-wife breaks silence after he split from Kristina Rihanoff – Daily Record

BBC Strictly Come Dancing’s Ben Cohen’s ex-wife breaks silence after he split from Kristina Rihanoff – Daily Record

Ben Cohen’s former wife, Abby Cohen, has made scathing comments following his breakup with Kristina Rihanoff.

In the wake of their separation in 2014 and Ben’s subsequent romance with dancer Kristina Rihanoff — whom he met on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing — Abby was left devastated.

Although Ben and Kristina got engaged in November 2022, they have since ended their engagement earlier this year.

Financial troubles reportedly plagued the couple prior to their relationship’s demise, as disclosed earlier this month. The situation is being referred to as the “curse in reverse,” a play on the notorious Strictly curse that typically involves celebrities forming romantic connections with their dance partners on the show.

In a candid interview, Abby expressed her thoughts: “I’m sad for Ben. Our marriage broke down and it’s happening all over again to him, and he’s got another child. He’s got to start again from nothing, in his late forties. He’s going from being so successful as a rugby player to [people] now reading of his business failures.”

She also remarked that she doesn’t desire ‘to make Ben look more stupid than he already does. ‘.

The mother stated that hearing about Ben’s newest separation reopened past sorrows and voiced her dismay that their daughters must ‘relive the pain,’ a sentiment further compounded by the daughter they have from Kristina’s relationship with Ben.

Abby has candidly shared that the Strictly soundtrack still triggers her PTSD. Despite residing in the same town as Kristina, she has made it clear that reconciliation is not on the cards.

In a revealing chat with The Mail on Sunday, Abby described the stark contrast between them: “We are total opposites. I’m a homemaker. I’m a family girl. I make stews and Sunday dinners,” she explained.

Expanding further on their differences, Abby said: “I don’t know if Kristina does that, but I don’t think so. Me and Kristina are completely different. We look completely different. We like different things. She doesn’t have any wellies, put it that way. She doesn’t pick dog mess off the floor like I have to do every day.”

Previously, Abby didn’t mince words, having referred to Kristina as “that f*****g Russian,” Yet, despite living in close proximity, their paths haven’t crossed — not even when Ben and Abby’s children have been shuttling between homes. Abby suspects that fate is intentionally preventing an encounter, safeguarding her from further emotional strain.

Meanwhile, a source revealed to The Sun the breadth of turmoil faced by the couple amidst financial struggles, indicating a separation was inevitable. They disclosed that the “past six months has been hell” for the duo, effectively dismantling the affection once shared.

The source added: “For the sake of their family, they have chosen to go forward as separate individuals. Those close to them who know them as a couple had hoped they would be able to work things out but for now it’s over and it looks like there’s no going back.”

During a candid chat with The Sun, Abby opened up about the dubious beginnings of Ben and Kristina’s romance. She was quoted saying to the newspaper: “How they met is not, in my opinion, a solid enough foundation because it was all about lust and was a physical thing. It wasn’t an organic way to meet.”

Abby spoke wrenchingly about the toll her split took on her wellbeing, admitting: “I was in a mess, I didn’t want to be here any more. I was really poorly. I sought help and support. I was really sad for a long time.”

And in 2015, letting her feelings out, she declared: “My husband, who I was with for 23 years, unconditionally loved and was completely loyal to in every respect, has left me for a f**king Russian dancer. The last two years have been the most traumatic thing to ever happen to me. He’s done the dirty on me. I want people to know.”

BBC Gladiators viewers threaten to boycott show as they spot ‘tactics’ in quarter-final clash – Daily Record

Fans of the popular BBC show Gladiators were left calling for ‘justice’ following a shocking revelation in the latest episode that will impact the rest of the series.

The broadcaster’s much-loved reboot has been captivating audiences since its second season began earlier this year.

In the episode aired on March 15, hosts Bradley and Barney Walsh returned to our screens for the final round of the quarter-finals. Viewers watched as contestants competed to secure their place in the semi-finals, taking part in various events including Unleash and intense rounds of Duel.

Nathan from Sunderland went head-to-head with Andy from Bournemouth, while Rachel, daughter of former boxer Frank Bruno from Essex, faced off against Keeva from Belfast. However, there was an unexpected turn of events when one Gladiator made a surprise appearance with significant news.

Hosts Bradley and Barney introduced Giant, who hadn’t yet participated in any of the events, surprising some viewers. He disclosed that he had unfortunately sustained an injury during his most recent appearance, having damaged his bicep while participating in Powerball.

As a result, the Gladiator won’t be able to participate in the remainder of the current series.

This news disappointed viewers at home, who quickly took to social media to share their reactions, with many sending their best wishes, according to the Mirror, reports the Express.

However, quite a few were also pointing fingers.

Viewers were left devastated on X as the fan-favourite Giant was eliminated from the competition, prompting an outpouring of sympathy online. One fan expressed their sorrow, saying: “Awwww. No more Giant. No more of them thighs.”

The absence of a much-anticipated Giant/Nathan rematch sparked discussions, with another viewer adding: “Ah, that’s why there was no Giant/ Nathan rematch.”

Suspicions arose that contestant Andy, who was competing for a place in the semi-finals, may have been behind Giant’s injury.

Calls for justice dominated social media, with one adamant fan stating: “Justice for Giant! ! ! Andy must not win.”

This sentiment was shared by others, with one insisting: “Giant deserves justice. Hopefully Andy won’t win tonight.”

In a lighter tone, someone humorously commented: “I hope Giant’s come back just to grind Andy into a fine red paste.”

Lucy Hale reveals she auditioned for an iconic Miley Cyrus role

Lucy Hale has delighted audiences in many of her projects, but the actress has revealed for each ‘yes’ she received from a casting director, there have been many more who told her ‘no.’

The actress, 35, who is dating Australian reality star Harry Jowsey, spoke about one audition that didn’t turn out the way she had hoped while promoting her film F*** Marry Kill on Buzzfeed’s The Puppy Interview.

‘Oh my gosh, I’ve auditioned for Pitch Perfect, Hairspray, Hannah Montana, 50 Shades of Grey, The Substance,’ she said.

‘I feel like, because I’ve lived in L.A. almost 20 years, everyone who gets the role is always, it’s meant to be their thing, but for every ‘yes’ to an audition, there’s like a lineup of 200 that you heard a ‘no’ for,’ she explained.

Journey cancel set and rushed off stage as electrical fire breaks out during set

Journey, the iconic rock band that emerged in the 1970s, was unexpectedly forced to cut short their performance at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

Journey were forced to stop a performance after a fire broke out during their set. The legendary rock band were performing at the Livestock Show and Rodeo on Friday after an electrical fire broke out during their set. The group, known for hits like Don’t Stop Believin’ and Any Way You Want It, had just begun performing one of their most famous songs when the incident occurred.

The band, which formed in 1973, was made up of vocalist Arnel Pineda, guitarist Neal Schon, drummer Deen Castronovo, keyboardist and guitarist Jonathan Cain, bassist Todd Jensen, and keyboardist Jason Derlatka at the time of the event.

A video posted on social media showed the moment the power went out during the band’s performance of their 1981 anthem Don’t Stop Believin’. This happened relatively early in their set, just after the fifth song. As the music stopped, the audience continued to sing along, but it quickly became apparent that something was wrong when crew members rushed to the stage carrying fire extinguishers. Despite the interruption, the crowd’s enthusiasm remained evident, with concertgoers continuing to belt out the lyrics.

The band addressed the incident shortly after, apologising to their fans in a statement that read: “We sincerely apologize to all fans for this disappointment. Our team is working diligently to assess the situation, and we will provide updates regarding rescheduling options and refunds as soon as possible.”

The cause of the electrical fire has not been confirmed. The issue occurred under the stage, and no injuries were reported, though the fire could have posed a serious risk. One concertgoer expressed their gratitude for the swift action of the first responders and stage crew, stating: “As disappointing as having to cancel the show, I feel thankful that first responders and stage hands were able to get the fire under control and no one was hurt. An electrical fire could have become extremely dangerous very quickly.”

Social media users who attended the event shared their experiences, many of whom noted the humour in the situation. One fan described the moment, saying: “Right when they were about to sing ‘it goes on and on and on and ONNN’ the power cuts abruptly but the audience was singing so much it sounded like they weren’t playing on purpose. Then after a few verses, we knew something was wrong.” Another wrote: “Was hilarious that it cut right as the chorus began and the audience kept singing like it was part of the show.”

Soon after, a statement was shared on the Rodeo Houston Instagram account, announcing the cancellation of the concert due to the “unforeseen electrical incident under the stage area.” The statement reassured attendees that the issue had been addressed, and safety was the top priority.

The following day, a new post confirmed that the technical issue had been resolved, and the scheduled concert for Warren Zeiders would proceed as planned. “The stage will be operating as normal, and we will host all activities in the stadium and on the grounds as originally planned,” the post read. For fans of Journey, Rodeo Houston assured they would provide additional information regarding refunds and rescheduling soon.
