‘Severance’ Creator Dan Erickson And EP Ben Stiller Unpack “Inevitable Confrontation” In Season 2 Finale And Season 3 Hopes

The conclusion of Severance Season 2 answered some questions while prompting many new ones, especially when the penultimate episode gets factored in alongside the eighth and seventh installments, setting several characters on new and uncertain paths.

The final scene of the 77-minute episode, titled “Cold Harbor” suggests all sorts of changes bound to occur in the show’s freshly renewed Season 3 announced this morning. After a harrowing sequence of events for Mark Scout’s (Adam Scott) innie including finishing the Cold Harbor file, accidentally killing the sinister Mr. Drummond (Ólafur Darri Ólafsson), saving Emile the goat’s life and rescuing Gemma (Dichen Lachman) from the Testing Floor, innie Mark can’t find it in himself to follow his outie’s wife out the exit stairwell door, and he makes the choice to run away with Helly R. (Britt Lower) in the ever-complicated triangle (or square) that has formed between his two halves of self.

“That was the track that — since the beginning — the series has been leading to on an emotional relationship level. Innie Mark has his own life. Outie Mark has his own life. Outie Mark, we meet first in terms of understanding what he wants, but then over the course of the first and second season, innie mark is living his life and developing these emotional attachments and relationships in his life that are very valid,” director and executive producer Ben Stiller told Deadline ahead of the finale launch. “These two characters are at odds because [outie Mark] getting his wife out is going to basically end innie Mark’s whole existence. And isn’t he a person? And isn’t Helly a person? It’s this inevitable confrontation that has to happen between the two of them.”

The added sentiment of Helly’s pleas to Mark’s innie that “I’m her” meaning she is really Helena Eagan in the outside world, further complicates the choice because, as Mark’s innie tells his outie in brain-bending conversation via video camera, there’s no way Helena will reintegrate like Mark has begun to do.

“The hope is that the audience is, in some way, split or feeling like some people are like, ‘Yeah, I’m Team Innie Mark’ and, ‘I’m Team Outie Mark,’” Stiller said. “It’s a real conflict.”

Deadline dove deep into the finale as well as plot points in the final four episodes with Stiller and the series creator Dan Erickson before Episode 10 landed and before the Season 3 renewal news was made official. Below, they further dissect what goes into Mark’s ultimate choice between Gemma and Helly, Harmony Cobel’s (Patricia Arquette) backstory, what’s next for Irving’s (John Turturro) outie among other moments in Season 2’s conclusion.

Stiller told Deadline that he and the team behind the show knew how Season 2 would end — down to the very last scene — from the beginning.

“Our hope was to do something that felt like a full meal as a final episode that would also be different than the first season’s finale,” he said. “The first season finale was very much this idea of tying up these loose ends, but this sort of real-time experience of the innies in the outside world. It had a great cliffhanger at the end too, and we just didn’t want to have the same cliffhanger ending here.”

Viewers will recall that Season 1 ended on Mark’s innie getting a dose of his outie’s life thanks to the Overtime Contingency and realizing that his wife Gemma, who also has an innie at Lumon named Ms. Casey, is still alive.

“We felt like ‘Okay, this is going to be leading to this decision of Mark between Helly and Gemma. It felt like also the first time that Mark would ever communicate with himself,” Stiller added. “We wanted to make it, hopefully, like its own little movie that tonally was different than anything we’d done before, but was rooted still in what we felt were like the elements of the show, but a little bit more intense.”

The whole complication of Mark’s choice throws the question of what transcends the severance barrier, specifically when it comes to love, into prism refraction when thought about from Mark’s innie versus outie perspectives and his innie’s hesitation to follow Gemma through the exit stairwell door even after innie and outie converse via camcorder.

“I think there’s no easy answer to that question in terms of what it transcends, and it may be different for different people. In the case of Irving and Bert, we see that there is something that transcends, whether it’s some sort of instinctual memory of the love that they had, or if it’s just that they are both intrinsically, the same people as their innies, and that they would tend to be drawn to each other. There, we see [that] it does seem to cross over,” Erickson told Deadline. “With Mark and Gemma, we see the inverse of that, which is, as he’s looking at her, part of it would be easier if he did feel love for this woman and if he could fulfill the mission that he’s sort of had since the beginning of the season, which is to save her.”

RELATED: All The Songs In ‘Severance’ Season 2: From The Who To Ella Fitzgerald

“It’s a painful realization for him in that moment that he just doesn’t feel that for her is how he does, but he just doesn’t, and the only person that he feels that for is standing behind him and and so that’s ultimately the direction that he goes. And it’s, it’s a it’s a moment where he, you know, it’s a choice between two loves, but it’s also a choice between two identities and two wives, and it’s and it’s him saying, you know, my love and thus my existence is valid and is as important as that of my Audi, yeah,”

Stiller praised Adam Scott for the “mind-numbing” dialogue between Mark’s innie and outie, a scene which was rewritten through rehearsals up until the take.

“Adam [was] rehearsing it with himself, which is challenging playing both parts,” the director said. “I remember we got on the set and we were rehearsing it on a Friday, we were gonna shoot on a Monday, and we rewrote it again as we were rehearsing it, to really get the dynamic the way we thought it should be. [We] finally locked in at the end of the day on Friday and said, ‘Okay, this is it’ so Adam could go off and learn the scene and memorize both sides of it.”

The disconnect between Mark’s innie and outie stems from innie Mark’s love for Helly, who outie Mark calls “Helleny,” which tips off his innie that the outie might not care as much about his innie’s life as he claims. This tension becomes apparent as the two halves of Mark turn what starts as a civil conversation with an apology into an argument about existence.

“[Adam] had to record video messages to himself for both sides that he watched, that we then would use when we were shooting, so he could actually listen to himself,” Stiller said. “He did these sort of like temp versions of it that he did on the video camera. It took a few days to shoot that sequence because it was just very confusing. I was happy when we were done with it.”

A theme that became apparent in the final four episodes of Season 2 was that of the involvement of women in Lumon Industries, the workforce more generally and society as a whole whether it be from the concept of innies and outties at the Damona Birthing Retreat cabins to Harmony Cobel’s (Patricia Arquette) specific ideas and contributions that Lumon stole without giving her credit.

“I don’t think there’s a way to have an honest conversation about corporate America without looking at the way that certain groups are sidelined and where their contributions are co-opted,” Erickson said. “I think for Harmony, both as a woman and as a non-Eagan, there’s always a little bit of a sense that she’s just lucky to be there and that she should be grateful that she was able to contribute something that the Eagans now get credit for, and that adds to their glory and their grandeur. I think that’s a big part of being in a cult is, the sense that you lose — you sort of get to a point where you are willing to give up your own importance to bring glory to those above you.”

Erickson also tied in Severed Floor Manager Seth Milchick (Tramell Tillman), who replaced Cobel at the beginning of Season 2.

“For Cobel as a woman, and for Milchick as a Black man, I think that both of them have a very unique experience with that, with having their contributions and their intellect co-opted and taken away from them,” he added. “We wanted to have an honest conversation about that.”

One face missing from the finale was John Turturro’s Irving Bailiff, whose outie Irving B. was extinguished at the end of Episode 4 during the ORTBO, or Outdoor Retreat and Team Building Occurrence. As Erickson mentioned above, in Episode 9, titled “The After Hours,” Irving and Burt Goodman (Christopher Walken) had a heartfelt goodbye moment that entailed Burt driving Irving to a train station where he got on a locomotive to ride “to the end of the line.” Irving took his beloved dog Radar with him.

“I’m not sure physically, where he’s headed. I’m glad he has Radar with him. That gives me a lot of comfort that they’re still together. I can’t speak to what’s to come, but I will say that in the limited time that we’ve had with outie Irving — I understand that there’s a lot that we still don’t explain at this point about his backstory — I think the picture we’ve gotten is somebody who had come to terms with the idea that love is not for him, and that that he’s not someone who gets to have that,” Erickson said. “I think he’s very committed to this mysterious, lone wolf mission that he’s on and has since, accepted that he can sacrifice love at the altar of that.”

Irving and Burt’s innies met at Lumon on the Severed floor where Burt worked in Optics & Design for Season 1, but their reconnection as outies holds other layers like outie Burt’s past with the company and Irving’s disconnection from his MacroData Refinement teammates Mark, Helly and Dylan. Viewers might remember that when Irv and Burt almost kissed in a botanical garden setting at Lumon, Irv told Burt that he just wasn’t ready, implying romance. At the train station before embarking on his journey, he tells Burt “I’m ready” repeatedly and that he’d like to have love in his life.

“To learn that a different version of him had that and that it was real and that it was beautiful, I think it reawakens this idea that maybe he could have that too,” Erickson said. “So I like to think that wherever [Irv]’s going, he is bringing with him a sense of optimism, that maybe he can be happier in a way he didn’t know.”

Stiller also touched on the violent sequence of Drummond’s aggression and death and how it compares to the death of Doug Graner (Michael Cumpsty) in Season 1. The director of the finale wanted to expose even more “ugliness of what’s there beneath the surface” of Lumon.

“That moment when he starts to strangle Mark, you realize, okay, whatever has happened in the course of the Cold Harbor experiment and all that, for whatever reason, Mark is now someone that [Drummond]’s willing to kill. There’s this underlying violence and ugliness to Lumon that we’ve never seen before that’s coming out,” the director said. “We felt like that was something [to see] because everything is so implied all the time. That’s why I was hoping [it] would be weirdly shocking when Drummond and just punches [Mark] in the nose the first time because it’s like, ‘Whoa, wait a minute. We’ve never seen anybody do anything.’”

Gwendoline Christie’s leader of Mammalian’s Nurturing had just offered up a baby white goat, Emile, to Drummond to kill as a sacrifice “to lead a cherished woman to Kier’s door.” Mark’s journey down to the Testing Floor interrupted this ritual, causing Drummond to almost choke him to death before Christie’s mysterious Mammalian employee threatened him at gunpoint, asking for no more killing of humans or animals.

“Shooting [it], we thought, okay, hopefully, the fun of this whole sequence is that [Mark] has to get down there and get her, but he’s going to have to figure out how to get through all this. “And it did feel like a natural moment when he’s severing that he would lose control of his, autonomy. It felt like a fun surprise moment that could happen, especially after [Drummond] gets so close to actually dying,” Stiller said. “Gwendoline, Dari Ólaffson and Adam worked with this fight coordinator friend of mine, Phil Neilson, and a guy named Dean Neistat, who’s our stunt coordinator. It was like fun to really go for something like that, where it just like a level of violence we hadn’t seen in the show. It felt to me, like that would hopefully be a little bit shocking, and surprising in a good way.”

When asked about a potential Season 3 for the record-setting series, Erickson expressed that he was “hopeful” for the opportunity to tell more of the Severance story.

Stiller “definitely” sees “a lot of questions to explore” for another installment, especially after the finale and revealed details of Cold Harbor and the experiment “set up the stakes of what they’re doing down there.”

“Of course, the fact that, innie Mark, is now with, Helly, [that’s] his choice, and Gemma is just stuck out there, and the irony of him being so close, Mark being so close, if he had just gone through that door, he could have been with her,” Stiller said. “I feel like that’s, obviously, something that’s left hanging there.”

‘Black Panther’ Musical Artist Puts Her Hat in the Ring To Play Storm in the MCU

Black Panther singer and One Of Them Days star, SZA, is ready to take this whole acting thing a bit more seriously — super seriously, in fact. And considering she already has one foot in the door at Marvel thanks to her award-winning song with Kendrick Lamar, “All the Stars” from the 2018 film, we could see one particular “dream role” of hers becoming a reality. After all, she’s already technically played a superhero once before (albeit for a State Farm commercial).

But while speaking to fellow singer/actress Jennifer Hudson on her eponymous daytime talk show, SZA revealed she’d love to tackle the origin story of Ororo Munroe — better known to comic book fans as Storm, a role originally inhabited by none other than Halle Berry (and more recently Alexandra Shipp). And you know what? We could totally see her pulling it off. (Sorry, fellow Storm wannabe Cynthia Erivo.)

Janet Jackson, who has had a successful acting career in addition to ruling the music charts, had to turn the X-Men role down to go on tour.

Talking about wanting to do “a thriller, something a little violent,” host Hudson (herself an actress and singer) insisted that she could see the rapper portraying a superhero. To which SZA gleefully replied, “I would love to be a superhero!” before adding:

“I was thinking, you know how Storm has an origin story? Like she comes from this whole other place where it’s like the jungle. I think that would be so gnarly, if I could be Storm [in an] origin story. I’d love to bring the range.”

You can watch the full interview — and read more about who else wants to play Storm! — in the section below.

SZA’s Dad Is A Total Nerd And Got Her Into Comic Books As A Kid Close

SZA also named Silver Surfer as one of her favorite superheroes, thanks to her father’s nerdy obsession. “My dad, he collects first-edition comics, so he has first-edition Thor comics and Silver Surfer [comics] in the basement. So I grew up super into Marvel and DC.”

Now, can somebody please tell her father to move those comics into a safer location? His girl blew up his spot!

Of course, SZA is not the only person who wants to play the iconic superhero. Recently, Cynthia Erivo noted that she’d like to play the part, as has the actress Storm Reid. Elsewhere on the internet, American Gods star Yetide Badaki has also expressed interest in inhabiting Storm’s super-suit. With rumors swirling that Halle Berry wants to reprise the role, only time will tell who gets to play this generation’s version of Storm.

  • Beyoncé’s dad Mathew Knowles issues scathing response to Kanye…

Beyoncé’s dad Mathew Knowles issues scathing response to Kanye…

Mathew Knowles is speaking out following Kanye West’s attack on his daughter Beyoncé and son-in-law Jay-Z’s children on social media.

Earlier this week, the disgraced rapper questioned the mental capacity of the couple’s 7-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir, and claimed they were conceived via in vitro fertilization (IVF) in a disturbing post shared on X.

Knowles, 73, who served as Bey’s manager in the early days of her career, believes that West (aka Ye), 47, will get his comeuppance.

“People pay a price for being stupid, especially in the music industry,” Knowles told TMZ on Friday.

Alluding to West’s increasingly unhinged behavior, Knowles added, “I’m hopeful Kanye gets the type of help he needs, in terms of mental health.”

Knowles’ comments arrived on the heels of his ex-wife Tina Knowles sharing a video on Instagram Wednesday that was widely viewed to be a thinly-veiled clapback at Ye’s vile posts.

“What happens when a snowman throws a tantrum? He has a meltdown,” Tina, 71, quipped.

“Corny joke, time!” she began her caption.

“It’s hard to remain positive and classy in the face of ignorance and evil. But I know that no weapon formed against me or my family shall prosper. This battle is not mine, but the Lord’s, I know that God has got this,” she added in a since-deleted excerpt of the post.

No stranger to public controversy, Ye has been more embattled than ever lately: from selling Swastika T-shirts and launching antisemitic tirades to accusing his ex-wife Kim Kardashian of running a sex-trafficking ring involving their children.

And though he deleted his original post on X about Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s children, he later reposted it, noting that he didn’t remove it to be “a good person.”

“I need everyone to know that I took the post about Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s family down … because there was a possibility of my Twitter being cancelled [sic],” he wrote on Wednesday.

After making a series of new antisemitic comments on X later that day, Ye turned his attention back to the “99 Problems” rapper, 55, and the “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer, 43.

“I LOVE JAY Z AND I DO FEEL BAD,” the Yeezy founder began, seemingly walking back his prior attacks. “I ALWAYS FELT LIKE THE BLACK SHEEP LIKE I WANTED FAMILY IN THIS MUSIC S[ — ]T[.]

“I’D RUN ON STAGES THINKING I WAS DOING THE RIGHT THING AND WOULD ALWAYS BE A SLIGHT HOV NOT COMING TO MY FIRST WEDDING,” he added, possibly alluding to his storming onstage and stealing the mike from Taylor Swift at the 2009 VMAs. The statement also referred to how Jay-Z, who sometimes goes by HOV, short for HOVA, didn’t attend Ye’s wedding to Kardashian, 44.

Continuing to write about Jay-Z, Kanye posted, “HIM PUTTING KENDRICK ON THE SUPERBOWL OVER ME OR EVEN US NEVER BEING INVITED TO S[ — ]T TAKING [sic] JABS ABOUT MY RED HAT ON DONDA.”

Jay-Z signed a partnership with the NFL in 2019 to produce the Super Bowl halftimes. The Roc Nation founder tapped Kendrick Lamar to perform at the 2025 show. Jay-Z has also been critical of Kanye’s past support of Donald Trump, who has become synonymous with his red “Make America Great Again” hats that Ye has famously and controversially worn.

“I FELT LIKE BOTH HIM AND HIS WIFE COULD HAVE HELPED ME HAVE MORE LEVERAGE WITH MY KIDS,” Ye went on. “THEY COULD HAVE USED THEIR CULTURAL POSITION TO NOT JUST WATCH THE KARDASHIANS RUN ME OVER.

    “S[ — ]T HURTS SO F[ — ]K BOTH OF THEM CAUSE WHEN I NEEDED THEM IT WAS F[ — ]K ME,” he concluded.

Red Nose Day raises £32 million as Comic Relief celebrates its 40th anniversary

A host of comedy sketches helped to raise £32 million for Comic Relief during its 40th anniversary, it was announced at the end of the live BBC broadcast. The charity fundraiser, hosted at Salford’s MediaCity, saw sketches from some of the biggest shows on the BBC, including Strictly Come Dancing, Gladiators and Beyond Paradise.

At the helm were TV presenters Joel Dommett, Rylan Clark, Alison Hammond, Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Tom Allen, Alesha Dixon and AJ Odudu. The Inbetweeners stars James Buckley and Joe Thomas recreated the moment Oasis decided to reunite for a tour in one of the sketches.

Liam, played by Buckley, and Noel, played by Thomas, were advised to call each other after their managers told them they were broke. It comes after the feuding Gallagher brothers announced their long-awaited reunion in August 2024 with a worldwide tour taking place this summer.

The actors also recreated “that ticket fiasco”, when fans saw ticket prices soar thanks to the use of dynamic pricing on Ticketmaster. TV presenter and journalist Piers Morgan played the “Ticket Master” who could be seen meeting the brothers in a dark and spooky castle. “Let me reassure you personally, everyone will be treated completely fairly,” he told them.

Elsewhere, comedy character Chabuddy G from sitcom People Just Do Nothing told the Gladiators he was joining them as a new superhuman member of the show called “Girth, Wind And Fire”.

The character, played by Asim Chaudhry, managed to win a challenge against Bionic (Matty Campbell) but CCTV confirmed “foul play” and Chabuddy G was banned for life from the show.

Comedians Russell Kane and Rachel Parris portrayed Strictly’s first amateur professional dancers, Melissa and Johnny, in another sketch. The dancing duo had been selected thanks to the BBC One show’s “inclusivity rules, which require a certain percentage of professionals to be amateurs”. They showed off their dance moves in a comical routine that appeared to impress the Strictly professionals, who then learned their 1990s-inspired moves.

Miranda Hart narrated the documentary-style comedy clip and later told the amateur dancers that both of their celebrity partners had managed to injure themselves, meaning they would have to exit the series.

Instead of performing on the show they were told they could dance during Red Nose Day and performed, live, to Everybody Get Up by Five before a quick costume change and follow-up performance with the professional dancers.

During the BBC One programme, popular sketches from across the years were shown, including when James Corden’s Smithy, from Gavin And Stacey, stumbled into an England football meeting. Also on the show, Rock Choir performed Somewhere Only We Know by Keane while Sugababes sang their hit Stronger.

Comic Relief co-founder Sir Lenny Henry, who hosted his final Red Nose Day last year after almost four decades at the helm, reflected on the charity’s 40th anniversary. “I can’t believe Comic Relief is turning the big 4-0. In some ways it feels like 1985 was, like, yesterday,” he said in a pre-recorded video.

Sir Lenny also spoke about how the charity had started following “a devastating famine in East Africa” in the 1980s and said the Noughties brought Sport Relief while the 2010s saw money funnelled towards helping those with malaria.

After reviewing the highlights, Sir Lenny added: “Please keep doing what you can to help, because doing good never gets old.” TV presenter Davina McCall told viewers “we’re going back to the 1980s” when the evening kicked off.

Limahl, from English pop band Kajagoogoo, sang the group’s hit song Too Shy, before Carol Decker, from T’Pau, performed China In Your Hand. Communities, workplaces, schools and families have helped raise more than £1.6 billion over the last 40 years, which has supported more than 100 million people, according to Comic Relief.

The charity has helped support communities by providing food, healthcare and shelter to those who need it most. Sir Lenny co-founded the charity with Love Actually screenwriter Richard Curtis in 1985.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse – Everything We Know, Trailer, Release

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors

Will Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse release in 2025? Unfortunately not, but there’s plenty to get you excited for Sony’s highly anticipated animated Spider-Man film.

Capping off the trilogy that began with 2018’s acclaimed Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and continued with 2023’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the third installment was originally set for release on March 29, 2024. Delays got in the way, however, pushing the premier to 2026 at the very earliest.

With the previous films earning widespread critical acclaim, including an Oscar nomination for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in the Best Animated Feature category, expectations are high for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. Here’s everything we know so far.

    Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse Story

Directed by both Bob Persichetti – who co-directed the first movie – and Justin K Thompson – who co-directed the second movie, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse looks set to pick up directly where the cliffhanger ending of Across the Spider-Verse left off, with Miles confronting his own variant in an alternative universe. He’ll not only have to contend with a foe as equally powerful as he is but find a way to return to his own universe and save his dad.

It’ll be the last film in the Spider-Verse series, with producer Christopher Miller telling Deadline it “will be a very satisfying conclusion…It goes even more emotionally deep into the relationships between Miles, Gwen, Peter B., [and Miles’] parents.”

As well as that, co-director Kemp Powers tells SFX of the cliffhanger ending, “We hope that it’s a satisfying tee-up for what’s coming in the third film because you want people to be excited about what’s coming next. And it helps that we knew going in that this was part two of a three-part story. Since you already know that that third story is guaranteed, you can tackle it a bit differently.”

    Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Recap

In Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Miles discovers the Spider Society HQ, a base for various Spider-Man from across the multiverse. Here, he meets Miguel, a ruthless Spider-Man variant who tells Miles he’s triggered an imminent universal collapse by saving the police captain in Mumbattan and disrupting a canon event.

The future death of Miles’ father is another cannon event that needs to happen if the universe is to survive. Miles obviously wants to avoid it, though, so he escapes the Spider Society and heads back home.

Instead, where he actually ends up is Earth-42, and here, nothing is quite right. His uncle is alive (he’s The Prowler from the first movie), his dad is already dead, and that universe’s Miles is actually The Prowler.

Shameik Moore is the star of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, reprising his role for the second time (three times in total) as Spider-Man/Miles Morales. A teenager with incredible powers, he’s now trapped in an alternative universe with his life, and his dad’s, on the line.

He’s joined by love interest Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld), and ally Pavitr Prabhakar (Karan Soni), who both have superhuman spider powers of their own. Jason Schwartzman is also back as Dr. Johnathon Ohnn / The Spot, a former scientist covered with interdimensional portals.

“Action,” Moore tells ScreenRant of what viewers are in for. “You can expect Miles and Gwen. You can expect everything you’re expecting from the second one. You can expect to see The Spot; you can expect some action-packed energy and some dilemmas and problems to solve.”

Here’s the full confirmed Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse cast list so far.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse Release Date

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse does not currently have a release date, although it’s expected to hit cinemas in mid-2026. Sony Pictures Releasing is also prepping a release on IMAX, so you can enjoy it on the biggest screen possible.

“They are beavering away on it as we speak,” the film’s composer Daniel Pemberton tells GamesRadar+. “I think the main thing for everyone is we are so proud of what we have done on these movies and you want a classic trilogy, you don’t want to let it down, you don’t want to Godfather it. We are feeling added pressure – in capital letters, underlined, with a big exclamation mark at the end.”

    Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse Delay

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse has been hit with numerous delays. Its development stretches all the way back to early 2018, when Sony initially mapped out its follow-up to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

The call was made to split the increasingly ambitious sequel into two films. While the first released in 2023, production delays and the SAG-AFTRA strike of 2024 had an impact on voice recording and performance capture for the next one.

HOUSTON (AP) — Dallas rapper Yella Beezy has been arrested and charged with capital murder in the shooting death of fellow rapper Mo3 on a busy interstate in 2020, according to court records.

Yella Beezy, 33, whose real name is Markies Conway, was indicted by a Dallas County grand jury on Tuesday on a charge of capital murder while remuneration. The indictment accuses Conway of hiring a man named Kewon White to murder Mo3, whose real name was Melvin Noble.

The indictment did not provide information on why authorities believe Conway hired White to shoot Noble, who also lived in Dallas.

Court records did not list an attorney who could speak on behalf of Conway. Calls and emails to representatives for Conway were not immediately returned.

In a Facebook post after Conway’s arrest, Noble’s mother, Nichole Williams Noble wrote, “Justice for my baby!!!!”

The 28-year-old Noble was driving on Interstate 35 in south Dallas on Nov. 11, 2020, when authorities allege White drove up next to him and got out of his vehicle with a gun in his hand. Noble got out of his vehicle and began running south on the freeway as White shot at him, authorities said. Noble and a bystander who was inside a car were shot by White, police said. The bystander survived but Noble died at a hospital.

White and another man, Devin Brown, 32, were later indicted in Noble’s death. Their cases related to Noble’s death remain pending. ‘Little House on the Prairie’ actor Jack Lilley dead at 91

Jack Lilley, best known for his roles on “Little House on the Prairie,” has died. He was 91.

His son, Clint Lilley, exclusively confirmed to Fox News Digital that his father had died “peacefully in his sleep,” at the Motion Picture & Television Fund retirement home in Calabasas, California on Wednesday, March 19.

“He was one of a kind,” Clint said as he shared how proud he was to be a part of three generations in Hollywood.

“We got a glimpse of the old Hollywood … because he came out of that … and seen the transition. He’s seen so much change in the industry and we were kind of raised around it as little kids. We got to see when it was done back in the day, compared to now.”

Clint remembered working on the “Little House on the Prairie” production as a child and continued to share what his father taught him in the industry.

“He taught us, we had to work for it and nothing was going to be handed to you, you have to go get it … he made sure [of] that … I’m thankful for that, because he wanted to make sure that we were grounded,” Clint laughed as he reflected on special memories of the Old Hollywood actor.

“He wanted to make sure that [we know] … it’s a privilege, it’s a blessing to be in the industry … I’m forever grateful for that.”

Jack appeared as a stagecoach driver in “Little House on the Prairie” and was often seen transporting the characters in between towns on a horse-drawn carriage.

The Hollywood actor worked on the popular 1970s television series and was featured in several made-for-television movies in the “Little House” franchise, including “Little House: Look Back to Yesterday” in 1983 and “The Last Farewell” and “Bless All the Dear Children,” both of which aired in 1984.

Jack’s son shared that his father was close with “Little House on the Prairie” producer, Kent McCray, and fellow actor Victor French.

“He’s one of those guys who never forgot where he came from,” Clint added. “He came from dirt poor; they moved in 1933. He was born in Texas … grew up in North Hollywood.”

“He helped a lot of people in this industry … he could make things happen. He was that guy, and he was always willing to help. Always willing to help out and come up with a solution … make it work, make it happen … that’s a gift.”

Jack concluded his heartfelt tribute, “He’s a really good father, no doubt about it.”

The “Little House on the Prairie” family is also mourning the loss of the series alum.

“The little house family has lost one of our own. Jack Lilley has passed away,” Gilbert posted on social media.

“He also happened to be one of my favorite people on the planet. He taught me how to ride a horse when I was just a wee little thing. He was so patient with me,” she added in her lengthy tribute.

“Aside from being Victor French’s photo double, he was featured prominently in many different roles on Little House. You can also see his absolute brilliance in the film Blazing Saddles.”

Gilbert posted a photo of Jack in a cowboy hat to accompany her social media tribute.

“Our first read though was at Paramount Studios, where we had shot Little House the first four years. It was also on Halloween, which is Michael Landon’s birthday. That day, I also found out we would be shooting at Big Sky Ranch, where we had shot little house.”

She continued to describe how her first day on set was “surreal.”

“Then I walked to the set itself and before I could even focus I heard a familiar voice holler, ‘Hey Halfpint, you old rat-a–!!!’ It was Jack. He was our wrangler for that pilot and by his side was Denny Allen, who had been our wrangler on Little House.”

Gilbert added, “In that instant, I knew I was home. Jack always felt like home to me. He lived quite a life. I am so lucky that he was my friend… Oh Jack….sweet prince…may flights of angels sing thee to thy rest. Love always, Your Halfpint.”

  • One Piece Has Has Been Hit With A Big Shakeup Ahead Of Season 2’s Arrival, But I Actually Think This Could Spell Good News For Season 3’s Chances

One Piece Has Has Been Hit With A Big Shakeup Ahead Of Season 2’s Arrival, But I Actually Think This Could Spell Good News For Season 3’s Chances

As much as I’ve enjoyed making my way through the One Piece anime (which recently hit a major milestone), I look forward to the day when I can stream new episodes of the live-action show again with my Netflix subscription. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like One Piece Season 2 will debut on the 2025 TV schedule, instead being saved for a 2026 release. However, it has been indicated that Season 3 is already in the works, and a big behind-the-scenes shakeup that was just announced could lend credence to this.

Netflix’s One Piece was created by Matt Owens and Steve Maeda, with the men handling showrunning duties together that first season. Maeda then departed the series, and Owens served as the sole showrunner in Season 2, which has wrapped filming. Now Owens has shared on Instagram that’s leaving One Piece as well, writing:

It’s a shame that Owens is departing One Piece, as now the show no longer has either of the creators of this adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s source material. However, I admire Matt Owens for prioritizing his mental health and realizing he needs to step away from the Netflix show to make that happen. While every TV series comes with its own challenges, One Piece especially looks like it’s a major undertaking, and not hard to envision Owens experiencing a lot of stressful moments.

But a thought also came to my mind as I was writing his post: why share this with the world if One Piece wasn’t continuing? If the series was ending with Season 2, there’d have been no reason for Matt Owens to say anything. The season would eventually come out, and that would be that.

The fact that Owens took the time to write this statement leads me to think that Netflix will either greenlight One Piece Season 3 soon or has already done so. In fact, Roronoa Zoro actor Mackenyu mentioned last month that he’s working on several projects before shooting One Piece Season 3, so the latter is definitely a realistic possibility. Considering that Season 2 will stop short of hitting the Alabasta storyline, I’d be disappointed if Season 3 wasn’t happening, as it’s the culmination of arcs we’ll see unfold in this next season.

I’ll continue waiting for the news that One Piece Season 3 is a go and when we’ll be able to watch Season 2. Season 1 ended up being Netflix’s most-watched show in the latter half of 2023, and the One Piece franchise as a whole is more popular than ever. It’d be a shame if these versions of Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates went away after just two seasons, so let’s hope I’m right about this.

  • ‘Only Murders in the Building’ Adds Christoph Waltz for Season 5

‘Only Murders in the Building’ Adds Christoph Waltz for Season 5

The two-time Oscar winner will recur in the upcoming fifth season of the hit Hulu sitcom.

Only Murders in the Building Season 5 recently kicked off production, and joining the star-studded cast is Christoph Waltz.

Variety reports that the two-time Oscar winner will be recurring in the upcoming fifth season of the hit Hulu sitcom. As of now, details surrounding his character and plot details are being kept under wraps.

Waltz’s casting comes on the heels of Keegan-Michael Key’s addition. It was announced earlier this month that the comedian has also been cast in a recurring role. Only Murders is known for its impressive lineup of guest stars. On top of the cast being led by Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, the series has brought on Paul Rudd, Meryl Streep, Zach Galifianakis, Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, Cara Delevingne, Nathan Lane, Jesse Williams, Jane Lynch, Molly Shannon, Sting, Jimmy Fallon, Amy Schumer, and Tina Fey, to name a few.

Only Murders in the Building marks Waltz’s first TV role since appearing in the Prime Video thriller The Consultant in 2023. Of course, he is much better known in film, most recently starring in Frankenstein and Old Guy, with other credits including Pinocchio, No Time to Die, Downsizing, Spectre, Horrible Bosses 2, Django Unchained, Water for Elephants, and Fire and Sword. He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Quentin Tarantino’s 2009 film Inglourious Bastards. He won the same category for Tarantino’s Django Unchained in 2012.

Only Murders in the Building was renewed for Season 5 back in September, just days after Season 4 premiered. The series remains one of Hulu’s most successful originals, and it wouldn’t be surprising if the pattern continued for Season 5. It’s likely Waltz won’t be the last cast addition, and there’s no telling who will be joining the fun as Charles, Oliver, and Mabel try to solve yet another murder at The Arconia.

As of now, a premiere date for Only Murders Season 5 has not been released, but since filming only just started, it might not be a while until a date is announced. The wait will be worth it, though, especially with Waltz joining the cast. In the meantime, fans can watch the first four seasons on Hulu now, and start theorizing as to who could be behind the latest murder. There will be a lot to look forward to, and one can only hope the new season comes out soon.
