The passing of the Atlanta rapper – who was best known for his 2006 hits ‘Walk It Out’ and ‘2 Step’ – on Friday (24.01.25) was confirmed by his wife, Sherkita Long-Platt, on Facebook, but she hadn’t shared the 43-year-old MC’s cause of death at the time.

Addressing speculation her spouse – whose real name was Anthony Leonard Platt – had been taking drugs, his widow confirmed to TMZ that he died in his sleep following a “cardiac arrest”.

Unk has a history of heart problems and slowed his output after suffering a heart attack in August 2009, which he blamed on constant touring, drinking, smoking, and a poor diet.

He told XXL magazine the following year: “It comes from not exercising, from not eating right.

“Basically man, I work hard everyday. Everything I do every day I try to make something happen in my household. I constantly be on the go, I constantly be on airplanes, in different weather and you know it just took a toll on me. It was stress.”

Confirming the news of his death, Sherkita wrote: “Please respect me and my family.

“I just lost my husband and my kids just lost their father. Our life will never be the same. I LOVE YOU ANTHONY FOREVER.(sic)”

The rapper’s former record label, Big Oomp Records, also confirmed the news and hailed their late client a “true legend”.

They wrote in a statement on their Instagram Story: “It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that we announce the passing of a true ATL legend, Anthony Platt better known as ‘DJ Unk’.

“DJ Unk was not just a legendary DJ, rapper and producer, but a true cornerstone of our label and the imprint that he left globally will be cherished forever.”

Unk began his career when he was just 17 in 1998, linking up with DJ Jelly and DJ Montay as the Southern Style DJs.

He signed to Big Oomp in 2000 but didn’t release his first album until 2006, when Koch Records brought out ‘Beat’n Down Yo Block!’, which featured his biggest hits. His album ‘2econd Season’ was released in 2008 and while it fared better than his debut, it didn’t have the same impact with its singles.

Unk appeared at the BET Awards in 2023 to perform ‘Walk It Out’ as part of a medley that also included F.L.Y. and Soulja Boy.

  • Mark Wahlberg Goes From the Ring to Religion in This 95% Rotten Tomatoes Audience Favorite Headed for Streaming

Mark Wahlberg Goes From the Ring to Religion in This 95% Rotten Tomatoes Audience Favorite Headed for Streaming

Mark Wahlberg is notorious for playing bad boys. From the early years of his career in films like The Basketball Diaries and Boogie Nights to more recent ventures including Daddy’s Home and Uncharted, the actor’s insane workout regimen has certainly allowed him to put that toned physique to good use in his career. But, he’s also shown his deeper drama range in other movies, such as The Lovely Bones and The Fighter. Both of those worlds collided in 2022 when Wahlberg took on the leading role in the biographical drama, Father Stu. The story essentially follows a bad boy turned priest, a performance that Wahlberg was more than capable of. Also featuring performances from Mel Gibson (Hacksaw Ridge), Jacki Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook), Teresa Ruiz (Narcos: Mexico), Cody Fern (The Assasination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story) and Aaron Moten (Fallout), the movie is preparing to bless audiences with its February 11 arrival on Max.

Telling the real life story of Stuart Long, Father Stu follows one man’s late-in-life road to the priesthood. The beginning of the film introduces audiences to Stu (Wahlberg), an aspiring actor and amateur boxer who has no problem with the ladies and enjoys going out to the bars at night. His life takes a major shift one night following a debilitating motorcycle accident from which he shouldn’t have survived. While in the hospital, he experiences a vision of the Virgin Mary, who essentially tells him to get his life together and join the priesthood. Following suit, that’s precisely what Stu sets out to do. Unfortunately, shortly into his latest journey, he discovers that he has a rare muscle disease called inclusion body myositis. Yet again, Stu’s life is flipped upside down as he now must find a way to live with the disease and continue to pursue his dream of becoming a priest.

The Rosalind Ross-helmed movie wasn’t the major hit that Sony Pictures Releasing was hoping for. The studio timed it for an arrival during Holy Week in 2022, but critics weren’t sold on the religious plot. Still, the film made a profit on its $4 million budget, earning a global total of $21.8 million. Completely divided, the audience reaction couldn’t have been any more different than that of the critics, with the former’s Rotten Tomato’s rating an impressive 95% and the latter’s 42%. This difference could have something to do with the movie’s two separate cuts, as the first one to hit cinemas was rated R, while a re-release titled Father Stu: Reborn allowed a younger crowd the chance to see it thanks to a PG-13 rating.

Audiences can commune with Wahlberg and the rest of the cast of Father Stu when the film arrives on Max on February 11.

Ian ‘H’ Watkins and Jade Thirlwall among mourners arriving at Vivienne’s funeral

Mourners including Steps singer Ian ‘H’ Watkin and former Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall have begun to arrive for the funeral of Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne.

Watkins, wearing a red tartan suit, walked towards the church with comedian Jayde Adams, who wore a bright green coat and trilby hat.

TV personality Kim Woodburn and Marcus Collins were also among the mourners arriving at the church.

The service for the TV star, real name James Lee Williams, who died earlier this month, is being held at a church in Denbighshire, North Wales.

A horse-drawn carriage arrived outside the church for The Vivienne’s funeral.

A coffin inside was topped with a white floral arrangement. Floral tributes in a hearse read ‘Vivienne’ and ‘Son’.

Many wore green for the service and Vivienne Westwood badges were worn on the lapels of some of the men’s suits.

Williams shot to wider fame after winning the first series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. They competed in the seventh season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars in 2022 and finished third on Dancing On Ice in 2023.

The Vivienne’s winning Drag Race moment remembered at star-studded funeral

Mourners including former Little Mix star Jade Thirwall, Coronation Street actress Claire Sweeney, Steps singer Ian ‘H’ Watkins and TV personality Kim Woodburn were seen arriving for the funeral of Drag Race UK star The Vivienne.

The service for James Lee Williams, who died earlier this month aged 32, was held at a church in Denbighshire, north Wales, on Monday (January 27).

Watkins, wearing a red tartan suit, walked towards the church with comedian Jayde Adams, who wore a bright green coat and trilby hat, and other friends. Singer Jade and former X Factor contestant Marcus Collins were also among the mourners arriving, with many wearing green for the service and Vivienne Westwood badges worn on the lapels of some of the men’s suits.

JLS star Aston Merrygold, who starred alongside The Vivienne in The Wizard of Oz last year, was also seen making his way to the church, as well as former Brookside actress Jennifer Ellison and celebrity chef Jameson Stocks.

A horse-drawn carriage arrived outside the church for The Vivienne’s funeral, with a coffin inside topped with a white floral arrangement. Floral tributes in a hearse read “Vivienne” and “Son”. The crown and sceptre The Vivienne won on Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK were carried into the church ahead of their coffin.

Williams, known as The Vivienne, won the first series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and placed third in ITV’s Dancing On Ice in 2023. During their career, The Vivienne also competed on an all-winners season of the RuPaul franchise in the US in 2022, the only UK contestant for that series.

Fellow RuPaul’s Drag Race UK contestants Tia Kofi, Baga Chipz and Cheryl arrived for The Vivienne’s funeral together. Winner of the show’s fourth series, Danny Beard, wore a jacket and trousers covered with Vivienne Westwood logos. He walked to the church with actress Hayley Tamaddon.

Williams, who was born in Wales, adopted their drag name as they were known for wearing Vivienne Westwood clothing. They also starred in BBC Three show The Vivienne Takes On Hollywood in 2020, and appeared on Channel 4’s Celebrity Hunted For Stand Up To Cancer in 2022.

Williams performed as the Wicked Witch of the West in a UK and Ireland tour of The Wizard Of Oz musical and reprised the role in the West End at the Gillian Lynne Theatre last year. They were due to be back on tour next month performing in the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang musical in the role of the Childcatcher.

The news of Williams’s death was announced by their publicist, Simon Jones, on January 5, who wrote that Williams was an “incredibly loved, warm-hearted and amazing person”. Mr Jones added that Williams would be remembered for their “immense talent”, adding “the light they brought to every room was astonishing”.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said on January 6 that officers had been called to an address in Chorlton-by-Backford, near Chester, at 12.22pm on Sunday following reports of a sudden death. The spokesman said: “Police attended, investigated the circumstances of the death of the 32-year-old man and concluded there were no suspicious circumstances. A file will be prepared for the coroner.”

  • Executives at Japan’s Fuji TV and parent firm resign over a sex scandal linked to a former star

Executives at Japan’s Fuji TV and parent firm resign over a sex scandal linked to a former star

TOKYO (AP) — The Japanese network Fuji Television and its parent company said Monday that its president and chairperson were resigning immediately to take responsibility for a widening sex assault scandal linked to one of Japan’s top TV celebrities.

The scandal centers on Masahiro Nakai, a former leader of Japan’s once-hugely popular boy band SMAP, and his costly settlement with a woman over the alleged sex assault at a 2023 dinner party that Fuji TV staff allegedly helped to organize.

The allegations surfaced in magazine articles in December and have since triggered claims of systematic cover-ups by Fuji TV executives. The public outrage over the lack of transparency and explanation at the network’s earlier news conference this month have led to an avalanche of advertising losses at Fuji, one of the networks where Nakai worked.

Fuji Television Network President Koichi Minato said his company mishandled the case.

“We are very sorry that we mishandled the case because of our lack of awareness about human rights and corporate governance … and as a result our responses to the involved woman were inadequate,” Minato said. “We are very sorry to have destroyed our credibility.”

Minato said the case violated the woman’s human rights, without providing details on grounds of privacy. He said it was handled as an “extraordinary” case requiring maximum confidentiality and sensitivity for the woman’s mental health and was shared by a small group of officials. The company had continued allowing Nakai to appear on Fuji shows for a year and six months, he said, but denied covering up the case because it involved a big star.

Minato said he did not think what happened was sexual assault and that the case was not reported to the company’s compliance office until the magazine report came out

He also denied a Fuji TV employee’s involvement but said allegations that the employee had previously organized barbecue and other parties for Nakai needed to be investigated.

Fuji officials also acknowledged that female announcers and other female employees have in the past participated at parties for stars, talent agency executives and sponsors, though they denied any sexual services. Minato said he believed top officials were complacent about the outdated gender roles and they now need to “update their mindset.”

Nakai last Thursday announced his retirement from the show business, which has already been hit by a series of sexual assault allegations in recent years in what is seen as a delayed #MeToo movement that began in Western nations in the 2010s. He said he was taking responsibility for the “trouble” and massive business losses as a result. He had earlier denied any violence or involvement of a third party.

Minato said he last saw the victim last summer when she visited his office to tell him she was quitting.

Shukan Bunshun weekly, one of the magazines that exposed the scandal, also alleged that Fuji TV has long exploited its female announcers to entertain stars like Nakai.

The chair of the companies, Shuji Kanoh, was also resigning in a decision made at a board meeting prior to the news conference, officials said.

Japan’s entertainment industry is in the midst of a wave of sexual assault cases, including the abuses of hundreds of boys and young men by late talent mogul Johnny Kitagawa, whose now-defunct agency Johnny & Associates managed many boy bands, including the one to which Nakai belonged, SMAP.

Following massive protests and criticism from even their own employees, Fuji TV and its parent company announced after a board meeting last week that they have set up an independent panel of lawyers to be submitted by March.

  • Fuji Media says chairman, head of TV unit to resign amid probe into sexual misconduct allegations

Fuji Media says chairman, head of TV unit to resign amid probe into sexual misconduct allegations

Japan’s Fuji Media said on Monday its chairman and the head of its TV unit would step down immediately amidst a probe into alleged sexual misconduct by a celebrity TV host.

The scandal, which has led to an exodus of advertisers and investor calls for a management shakeup, has also raised concerns about the exploitation of women in Japan’s entertainment industry.

In December, Japanese magazines accused Masahiro Nakai, a TV host and leader of the former boy band SMAP, of sexual misconduct. While Nakai has worked for many of Japan’s TV networks, the dinner at which the incident occurred was reportedly arranged by one of the broadcaster’s executives.

One of the magazines, Shukan Bunshun, has also reported the same executive had in a separate event gathered female TV personalities at a hotel to act as entertainment for Nakai and other celebrities.

Nakai, 52, has apologized for causing “trouble” and announced his retirement from show business. He acknowledged reaching a settlement with another party but has not addressed the allegations directly. Nakai did not respond to a Reuters request for comment.

Fuji Media said Chairman Shuji Kanoh and the head of its TV unit Koichi Minato would step down effective Monday. Another TV executive, Kenji Shimizu, will lead the TV unit.

According to tabloid magazines Josei Seven and Shukan Bunshun, a woman was invited to a dinner in June 2023 with a Fuji TV executive that Nakai also attended. But the executive backed out at the last minute leaving her alone with Nakai and there was a sexual act against her will, they reported.

“First of all, as a person, I would like to offer my sincere apologies to the woman involved to whom we were unable to show adequate care and awareness of human rights,” Kanoh told a news conference.

A Fuji Media spokesperson said the company became aware of the woman’s complaint that June but did not widely investigate it or report it due to privacy concerns and settlement talks between the parties.

The company also said on Monday that it had questioned an employee multiple times about the dinner and that the employee had denied knowing about or arranging the dinner.

Outrage over the scandal grew after a Jan. 17 news conference by Minato that was closed to most of the press with Minato answering few questions.

Dozens of big-name firms including Toyota and cosmetics giant Kao have suspended advertising with Fuji and most of its ads are currently public service announcements.

Fuji Media has promised an independent investigation by a third-party committee. It will be made up of three lawyers and is scheduled to submit a report by the end of March.

Activist investors who have criticized Fuji Media’s handling of the crisis include U.S.-based Dalton Investments, its second-biggest stakeholder at 5.8 per cent based on LSEG data, as well as Zennor Asset Management, a UK-based fund which holds just over 1 per cent.

Zennor said in a statement that the actions of the board showed “the company is finally taking this matter as seriously as they should.”

It added, however, that it thought the broadcaster needed to embark on a thorough review of its governance and that there was a strong case for a new leadership team from outside the Fuji Media group.

After plunging in late December and early January, Fuji Media’s shares regained ground, bolstered in part by hopes for a major corporate shakeup and are now trading some 14 per cent higher since news of the scandal first broke.

The proliferation of scandals involving sexual violence and coercion in Japan in recent years is reminiscent of the #MeToo movement that gained momentum in the United States in late 2017.

In 2023, Japan’s top talent agency, Johnny & Associates, announced it would dissolve after a BBC documentary exposed how its founder Johnny Kitagawa abused members of boy bands for decades.

Among Kitagawa’s biggest creations was SMAP, which launched Nakai and his bandmates into stardom in 1988.

Last week, the Japanese documentary “Black Box Diaries” was nominated for an Academy Award for its depiction of a woman’s search for justice after accusing a high-profile journalist of rape.

DJ Unk, the Atlanta MC known for his early 2000s hits including “Walk It Out” and “2 Step,” died after suffering a cardiac arrest this week, according to his wife.

Two days after the artist born Anthony Leonard Platt died at age 43, as confirmed by his wife Sherkita Long-Platt via a Facebook announcement, his spouse has since shared his cause of death with TMZ.

According to the outlet, Long-Platt confirmed that DJ Unk died in his sleep on Friday, Jan. 24, following a cardiac arrest. She also denied speculation that his death was related to substance abuse, telling the outlet that her husband did not do drugs.

Elsewhere on Instagram, Long-Platt encouraged fans and loved ones to attend an evening candlelight vigil on Sunday, Jan. 26, at Atlanta’s Central Park. The event will feature blue-and-white balloons, per a flyer.

Long-Platt confirmed the news of her husband’s death earlier this week, writing on Facebook that she “just lost my husband and my kids just lost their father,” as she asked her friends to respect her and her family.

“Our life will never be the same,” she continued. “I LOVE YOU ANTHONY FOREVER.”

Following the Facebook announcement, Platt’s label, Big Oomp Records, shared a tribute of its own, in which they called the musician a “true ATL legend.”

“It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that we announce the passing of a true ATL legend, Anthony Platt better known as ‘DJ Unk,’” the Instagram carousel read. “On behalf of Big Oomp Records and the BOR Family, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and the countless fans who were touched by his artistry and spirit.”

Platt was then remembered as “not just a legendary DJ, rapper and producer, but a true cornerstone of our label,” but also someone who left a global imprint that “will be cherished forever.”

Per the label’s tribute, his work “left an indelible mark on the industry, and his legacy will continue to inspire artists, DJs, and fans alike for years to come.”

“His energy, creativity, and commitment to the craft will never be forgotten,” the tribute concluded.

During his career, Platt saw charting success with his tracks “2 Step” — which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot Rap Songs chart in 2006 — and “Walk It Out.” The latter went on to feature André 3000 and Jim Jones in a remix, and it also appeared in the film Stomp the Yard.

As Billboard reported, Platt told the outlet at the 2023 BET Awards that he was grateful for the song’s “good energy and good vibes,” noting that he’d heard it being used in “workout dances” and even in church. “They use it for anything,” he said at the time.

In 2010, the musician told XXL that he had previously suffered a heart attack and intended to change his lifestyle.

“It comes from not exercising, from not eating right,” Platt said. “Basically man, I work hard everyday. Everything I do every day I try to make something happen in my household. I constantly be on the go, I constantly be on airplanes, in different weather and you know it just took a toll on me. It was stress.”

Gracie Abrams Blasts Fan Petition to Replace Dora Jar as Her Tour Opener: ‘So Wildly Uncool’

The “Close to You” singer said she “couldn’t be luckier or prouder to share a stage” with Jar

Gracie Abrams is speaking out after a fan started a petition to replace the opening act for her upcoming tour dates, calling the move “so wildly uncool and bizarre.”

Following Jar’s announcement on Friday, Jan. 24, that she would be opening for Abrams, 25, for her European and U.K. tour stops in February and March, a petition popped up on Change.org calling for Jar (real name Dora Jarkowski) to be replaced, according to Billboard.

The since-deleted petition, created under the name Dexter Morgan, read in part, per the outlet: “Many fans, including myself, are baffled by the recent announcement … We are perplexed as we do not recognize her, and with less than two weeks till the tour, it’s virtually impossible to familiarize ourselves with her slow-paced songs.”

Morgan continued, “For a memorable concert experience, an opening act should set the mood and get the crowd excited, but Dora’s slow tempo songs may not achieve this goal.”

The petition creator then shared their suggestion that “a more well-known, energetic artist or band” be chosen as Abrams’ opening act instead.

Abrams clapped back at the news of the petition on Saturday in a comment on an Instagram post from Stereogum. “Just hearing about this absolute ridiculousness… so wildly uncool and bizarre and also just does not remotely add up,” she wrote.

“I’ve only seen everyone’s total excitement and I couldn’t be luckier or prouder to share a stage with this talented wonder,” Abrams continued. “Stream everything she’s ever made whether or not you’re coming to the show. Dora forever and ever.”

On Sunday, Jan. 26, the Grammy nominee doubled down on her support of Jar, 28, as she reshared a screenshot of the comment she left on Stereogum’s post on her Instagram Stories. “Hi reiterating this and then dropping it. I am so excited to share a stage with this gem of an artist. Love you Dora ❤️,” she wrote over the image.

Jar first responded to the petition on Friday, writing in a post on X: “Don’t worry this doesn’t bum me out! I’m hear [sic] to perform for all the music loving open hearted fans. Those who aren’t interested can go buy merch while I’m playing (but they might as well let me entertain them tho..;)) an overwhelming amount of fans have been so kind & excited.”

The “She Loves Me” singer later joked on X that she had “signed the petition,” while noting she was still “rehearsing these songs just in case I remain the opener!” and cheekily adding, “Love u Dexter.”

In yet another X post, Jar — whose debut full-length album No Way to Relax When You Are on Fire was released in September 2024 — acknowledged that “hate comes with the job.”

But, she noted, “the truth is this is the biggest outpouring of love I’ve ever received from a fanbase who is still unfamiliar with me. Gracie has beautiful open hearted fans and I am so excited for this.”

She also nodded to the petition controversy — and all the new fans and attention it has brought her way — in a post on Instagram on Sunday, writing, “as if I didn’t survive middle school, welcome new lovers and haters.”

When Jar announced that she would be opening for Abrams, she described it as a “pinch me” moment and said it would be “a privilege to soon share the stage” with the “That’s So True” singer. “Can’t wait to see you all,” she added.

Jar will join Abrams on the road beginning on Feb. 8 in Madrid, Spain, and perform dates across Europe before the tour heads to the U.K. for a March 3 gig in Nottingham, England. Following shows in Leeds, London, Manchester, Cardiff and Dublin, the tour leg will wrap up in Glasgow on March 12.

  • How To Watch Watson Online And Stream Medical Drama From The Creators Of Elementary From Anywhere

How To Watch Watson Online And Stream Medical Drama From The Creators Of Elementary From Anywhere

It only took about 140 years, but John H. Watson, M.D. – one half of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s legendary detective duo – is finally stepping out of the shadow of attention-hog Sherlock Holmes. NAACP winner Morris Chestnut will play Watson in the modern day, who has now relocated to Pittsburgh and is focused on solving, not murders, but medical mysteries. Full of intrigue and iconic characters, our guide below explains how to watch Watson online and stream every episode from anywhere with the help of a VPN.

Watson is the second of many planned contemporary reimaginings of the Sherlock Holmes universe following the Emmy-winning Elementary (2012-2019). And it promises to replicate that show’s magic thanks to Craig Sweeny, who returns in the role of writer and executive producer, as well as being the series creator.

Described as a “medical drama with detective elements” (in a somewhat similar vein to hit series House), the new CBS series shifts focus to the eponymous hero, an esteemed physician who, in the wake of Sherlock’s “death” has resumed his medical practice (The Holmes Clinic for Diagnostic Medicine) where he attempts to cure his patients’ strange and inexplicable ailments.

As well as “Case of the Week”-style drama, this modern update is very much cut from the same tweed cloth as Conan Doyle’s detective stories. Set a year after Sherlock’s death at the hands of criminal mastermind Moriarty (the “Napoleon of Crime”), Watson has adopted Sherlock’s own inspired methodology of deductive reasoning, instructing his brilliant team of specialists that they should “eliminate the impossible, [and] whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth,” paraphrasing his mentor’s own well-known adage.

His staff, implored to be more detective than doctor, include his ex-wife and clinic medical director Mary (Rochelle Aytes, Hawaii Five-0), neurologist Ingrid Derian (played by Eve Harlow), twins Stephens and Adam Croft (Peter Mark Kendall, The Americans), and rheumatology and immunology whizz Sasha Lubbock (Inga Schlingmann). Plus, it wouldn’t be a Sherlock story without the return of adversary Moriarty, though how integral he’ll be who’s lined up to play them currently remain a mystery.

Poised to be the next CBS hit, keep reading for how to watch Watson online, your streaming options, the episode release schedule, and more.

How To Watch Watson Online in the US

A modern reworking of the famous Conan Doyle character, US viewers can watch Watson beginning from Sunday, January 26 on the CBS channel. The premiere will broadcast after the AFC Championship Game, which is expected to air at 10pm ET/PT but could start later if the match runs into overtime.

Then, to accommodate events like the Super Bowl, the following episode will premiere on Sunday, February 16, when the show moves into its fixed weekly slot of 9pm ET/PT.

If you don’t have the linear CBS channel, you can watch Watson online with a Paramount Plus subscription. The Essential plan costs $7.99 a month or $59.99 a year.

However, if you want to watch Watson live, you’ll want to opt for the Paramount Plus with Showtime plan. That’s $12.99 a month or $119.99 per year, which provides you with a local live stream of your CBS station and ditches ads on everything except live TV and a few shows.

Vacationing or working overseas and want to access your Paramount Plus subscription as normal? Use a VPN to port yourself back to the States like so:

While services like Paramount Plus blocks access from IP addresses outside of the US, there’s a handy piece of software called a VPN which can change your IP address to make it look like you’re accessing streaming services from any country in the world.

    2. Connect to a server – for Paramount Plus, for example, you’ll want to connect to a server based in the US

Wondering how to watch Watson in Canada? Well, it’s…elementary! The first episode of the new medical detective drama will air via Global TV on Sunday, January 26 at 10pm ET/PT, followed by the next episode broadcast on February 16 at 9pm ET/PT. This will be the show’s regular weekly timeslot going forward.

If you don’t have cable or missed an episode, don’t worry. The network also carries the episodes free online on their website, although only for a limited time.

Alternatively, purchase a StackTV subscription through Amazon Prime, where you can stream new episodes on Mondays, the day after their initial CBS broadcast. You’ll need an Amazon Prime subscription (CA$9.99 after the 30-day free trial for new members) before signing up for StackTV (CA$12.99 a month after the 14-day free trial). Can I watch Watson in the UK?

For the time being, there are no known plans to make Watson available to UK viewers. However, like many CBS shows, it’s likely to make its way there on Paramount Plus eventually, which is where you’ll currently find all seven seasons of Elementary.

As previously mentioned, those abroad will need to download a VPN to access their Paramount Plus subscription from outside the United States, and stream all episodes of Watson like you would back home.

If you don’t already have a sub, you can get the Basic (with ads) plan for AU$6.99 a month (AU$61.99 a year), or update to the ad-free Standard plan for AU$9.99 (AU$89.99 annually).

The precise number of episodes and the show’s CBS broadcast schedule haven’t yet been confirmed. However, IMDB.com hints that there will be at least 13 episodes. The below is premised on that number.

‘Alien: Earth’ Teaser Previews ‘Imminent’ Xenomorph Touchdown

Fede Álvarez’s Alien: Romulus is currently streaming on Hulu and recently received an Oscar nod in the Visual Effects category. Meanwhile, Earth has much more to worry about that’s coming from the skies, as viewers will see this summer. As of 2120, a space vessel will be hurtling toward our planet (as if there wasn’t enough to worry about here) for the Alien: Earth arrival. During Sunday night’s AFC Championship game, the above teaser shows what will lead to a Xenomorph touchdown, thereby sparking the Noah Hawley series.

The teaser’s tagline, “Destination: Earth. Impact: Imminent,” assures us this will be a destructive encounter, only a few years before Ridley Scott’s Alien space truckers sat down for their no-good meal interrupted by a chestburster. As this teaser reveals, the Alien and Alien: Romulus aesthetic remains intact in Hawley’s (Fargo, Legion) vision for the franchise. And if you feel a slight bit of vertigo from watching the containment-evading Xenomorph bounce around the Earth-bound vessel, well, get ready.

This series will stream on Hulu, and FX has followed up their cracked-egg imagery with some new key art that warns, “We were safer in space.”

That Xenomorph going to be angry as hell after pounding on that window during its descent toward the blue planet.

FX’s synopsis points toward Sydney Chandler’s character in making first contact with the alien ship:

When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat in the sci-fi horror series “Alien: Earth.” As members of the crash recovery crew search for survivors among the wreckage, they encounter mysterious predatory life forms more terrifying than they could have ever imagined. With this new threat unlocked, the search crew must fight for survival and what they choose to do with this discovery could change planet Earth as they know it.

Alien: Earth stars Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, and Timothy Olyphant. The vast ensemble cast includes Moe Bar-El, Kit Young, Erana James, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Adrian Edmondson, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Lily Newmark, Diem Camille, Babou Ceesay, and David Rysdahl.
